In 2022, the new Village of Merrickville-Wolford Official Plan was approved. The new Official Plan included such matters as ensuring conformity with Provincial and United Counties policies, responding to changes in the Ontario Planning Act, emerging planning trends, and addressing various housekeeping matters.
The Village is now considering a new Zoning By-law and Zoning Schedules to implement the policies of the new Official Plan, address recent changes to the Planning Act, reflect best practices, and address housekeeping matters.
The new "Discussion Draft Zoning By-law" applies to lands throughout the Village of Merrickville-Wolford.
The new Discussion Draft Zoning By-law is available below for reference and review. Paper copies are available at the Village Office upon request.
What Are The Next Steps In The Process?
Open House
An Open House is being held to allow for members of the public to ask questions in an informal setting related to the Discussion Draft Zoning By-law Update.
If you are unable to attend the Open House and would like to provide feedback on the Discussion Draft Zoning By-law Amendment, the Village will be accepting comments until February 28, 2025.

Public Meeting
This Public Meeting is an opportunity for members of the public to learn more about the proposed changes to the zoning by-law, ask questions, and/or make statements either in favour of, or in opposition to, the proposed changes. If you have questions, we encourage you to contact the Planner directly in advance of the meeting as they may be able to answer your questions.
How to Participate in the Statutory Public Meeting
- Attend the meeting in person at Village Council Chambers. Any members of the public who wish to speak will be given the opportunity to do so.
