To receive a 911 civic address or replacement, you must complete the Application for 911 Sign and return to the Municipal Office with the applicable fee.

An Open Air Fire Permit must be applied for annually online or from the Municipal Office.

Please be advised that the by-law currently allows for two (2) chip wagons to be located in Merrickville Ward annually, and two (2) chip wagons to be located in Wolford Ward annually.

Dog Tags

All dogs within the Village of Merrickville-Wolford are required to have a dog tag and be registered prior to April 30th of each calendar year. The licence expires each year on December 31. The license record associated with the tag has to be renewed each year.

The dog tag fee will increase after April 30.

Dog tags can be purchased and renewed directly from the Municipal Office.

Kennels

Residents that care for 5 or more dogs must obtain a kennel licence and pay an annual fee.

The Village of Merrickville-Wolford offers residents the opportunity to receive specific municipal notices as attachments in an e-mail rather than by regular mail.

Fill out the E-Notice Consent Form and return to the municipal office.

If your driveway enters from a Municipal road then an Application for Entrance Permit must be completed and returned to the Municipal Office with the applicable fee for approval by the Public Works Department. All other driveways that enter from a laneway, or private lane, should be made sufficiently accessible for emergency vehicles.

To make a formal request for records, you must fill out a Freedom of Information Request Form to be returned to the Municipal Office with the applicable fee. For more information view Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario website.

If you are a contractor or transporting another resident's garbage, you need to complete in-full a Contractor Landfill Permit.
Note: you no longer have to bring the form into the Municipal Office; bring it directly to the landfill.

If you are planning an event that includes a lottery, bingo, raffle, etc., you may be required to obtain a lottery license from the Village. Below you will find the information you need to know before considering a lottery, as well as application forms and reports for the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.

All lotteries require a license and can only be issued to charitable or non-profit organizations as defined by the Alcohol & Gaming Commission of Ontario. Eligible charitable or religious organizations that choose to conduct a lottery utilizing in-person sales may apply for a lottery license through the Municipality. 

The Village of Merrickville-Wolford can license the following:

• Raffles with prizes of up to $50,000
• Bingos with prize boards of up to $5,500
• Break Open Tickets for local organizations
• Lottery events at a Bazaar

All other types of lottery licenses are issued by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (ACGO).

Eligibility

Proceeds from lotteries must be used for a charitable, educational, or religious object or purpose in the Province of Ontario.

Prior to the issuance of a license, the applicant must:

• Submit proof of charitable status (first license only);
• Submit a signed Raffle Application Form or Break Open Ticket Application Form;
• Submit a sample lottery ticket (for raffle license applications)
• Meet all Provincial terms and conditions, including financial reporting;
• Provide any necessary documentation required by the Licensing Officer; and
• Pay lottery license fee.

Village staff review all Lottery License applications to determine specific eligibility.
