Following a thorough and competitive recruitment process in search of the new permanent CAO, Mayor Cameron and Council are excited to announce that Darlene Plumley has been chosen as the successful candidate to continue leading the Village of Merrickville-Wolford.
Darlene has been serving as the interim CAO since November 2023 and has already made many great contributions in her interim role. This appointment, effective August 1, 2024, is a positive reflection of her interim position and Council has great expectations as she transitions into the permanent CAO role for the Municipality. It is evident that she has had a positive effect on the team of hard-working staff that has been built, and she is strongly positioned to continue making great contributions for the community going forward.
In her thirty-year career in the capacity of a CAO/Clerk, she brings with her knowledge gained while working for the Village of Newburgh, the Township of Stone Mills, the Township of Frontenac Islands, and briefly with the Township of Lanark Highlands.
“On behalf of the Village of Merrickville-Wolford Council, I would like to extend our congratulations to Darlene and officially welcome her aboard. Council is proud to have her remain in this seat and to have her continue leading our staff and working hard for our Municipality”, Mayor Cameron stated.
Darlene provides the following message as she begins her time as permanent CAO for Merrickville-Wolford: “I sincerely thank Council for the confidence shown in my ability and look forward to taking on this role in a full-time capacity. Serving as the interim CAO for the past nine months has provided me with an opportunity to build a solid foundation. I am committed to working in collaboration with Council, Staff and residents to promote transparency and enhance service delivery. I look forward to serving this vibrant community with integrity, dedication and enthusiasm.”
