Please join us in activities and initiatives that explore the dynamic ways that local services shape our everyday lives.
Snowplow Naming Contest
Winter will be upon us before we know it, and the winter months are when the plow trucks are out in full force. It’s their time to shine!
With that in mind, the Village of Merrickville-Wolford Public Works Department thought it would be fun to give the new plow truck that will be joining the fleet in mid-November a fun name! This is where you come in.
Inspired by other communities who have done similar initiatives, the Village of Merrickville-Wolford is inviting residents to help come up with an awesome name for the new plow truck that will help clear our community roads this winter season.
Go to the Snowplow Naming Contest page to submit your best ideas for names and your submission will be included in the contest.
Please submit all ideas by the end of day on Friday, November 8, 2024. After that, the list will be reviewed and narrowed down to a group of ten (10) names that the public will have the opportunity to then vote on. Of the top 10, one (1) name will be selected and displayed on the side of the new plow truck this coming winter. We encourage as many fun names as possible to choose from!
Thank you for participating in this naming contest, we look forward to seeing how many names will be submitted!

The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) oversees the entire administration of the municipality. They provide strong, strategic leadership to the senior management team in the administration of all Departments and services of the municipality. As the key advisor to Council, the CAO helps Council establish/update and implement strategic directions to achieve Council’s objectives and priorities.
A fun fact about the Clerk’s Department is that every municipality is mandated to appoint a Clerk in accordance with Section 228 of the Municipal Act. The Clerk is responsible for the administration of Council agendas and minutes, the procedural guidance for Council meetings, and assists in the development of policies and by-laws to be approved by Council.
