The purpose of the Committee is to provide waste diversion and efficiency advice, recommendations, and information to Council concerning waste issues related specifically to the Waste Management programs and projects that affect the Municipality’s waste and recycling component. The goal and intent of the Committee is to assist the Municipality by recommending to Council implementation of various methods related to waste management operations, increased efficiency, and waste diversion.

The Committee is appointed by Council and is comprised of four (4) members of the public from Merrickville-Wolford and one (1) member of Council. The Head of Council is a non-voting member (ex-officio).
