The Municipality is constantly striving to improve service delivery for residents, and at the end of last year, Council received an Organizational Review report to help guide the Municipality in a positive direction.
The decision has been made to move forward with recommendations from that report and there will be a separation of the Public Works Manager and Fire Chief positions. The position of Fire Chief/Community Emergency Management Coordinator (CEMC), as well as By-law Enforcement, will be filled by Brad Cole and the Public Works Manager position will be posted for recruitment. The Village would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank Brad for his commitment and attention to the residents’ needs throughout his time in the Public Works Manager role. Council would like to thank Brad for his dedication to the multiple roles that he held within the organization and they look forward to him serving in his new role. He will continue to serve this Municipality well in his role as Fire Chief/CEMC. He is an invaluable leader for the Merrickville Fire Department that the Municipality is honoured to have and retain within this role.
Brad stated the following message: “I’d like to thank the municipality for having the confidence in me to continue in this role and I look forward to directing my focus on continuing to improve the fire and protective service within our community.”
In the interim until the Public Works Manager is filled, all inquiries and correspondence will continue to be directed to Mr. Cole. The Village website and staff directory will be updated when the recruitment process has been completed and the position has been filled.
The Village looks forward to continuously moving in a positive direction and enhancing service delivery for residents.
