Volunteer for Boards and Committees

Shortly after being elected, each new Village of Merrickville-Wolford Council forms a series of volunteer advisory committees and boards to support Council’s decision-making and effective governance of the municipality. Some of the committees and boards are regulated by Provincial legislation and others are not.

Each board and committee member is required to comply with the Village’s Procedure By-law and other related policies and legislation.

Council has appointed members and Council Liaisons to the following committees and boards:

April Recruitment

If you are interested in serving the community on one of the volunteer boards or advisory committees currently with vacancies, your service to the community would be greatly appreciated!

The following boards and committees have vacancies that need to be filled:

  • Police Services Board (Joint Detachment Board with North Grenville) - 1 vacant position
  • Community Wellness & Environmental Advisory Committee (CWEAC) - 2 vacant positions
  • Heritage & Planning Advisory Committee ( HPAC) - 1 vacant positon

Paying Your Bills

We now offer pre-authorized payment for Property Taxes and Utilities (water-sewer).

Property taxes, and water and sewer bills can be paid at the municipal office in person or by regular mail.

Accounts can also be paid through internet banking. Please contact the office for details on internet banking.

Has your mailing address changed?  Click here to download our Change of Address form to complete and return to us.  Don’t forget to notify MPAC of your mailing address change.  Our systems work together during tax season and the correct mailing addresses will ensure a smooth transmission of information and decrease the possibility of notices being returned to us. 

New to Merrickville-Wolford?  If you have recently purchased property in Merrickville-Wolford, please check with the local Post Master with regards to getting a Post Office Box or rural delivery set up.

Tax Notices are issued twice a year.  Keep an eye on your mailboxes at the beginning of February and July for your Interim and Final Notices.  Tax deadlines do not change.  Supplemental Tax Notices can be sent at any time throughout the year.

Facility Rentals

The municipality rents the following facilities for personal use:

  • Merrickville Community Centre 106 Read Street, Merrickville
  • Centennial Hall 43 Park Street, Easton's Corners

The rental of all municipal facilities requires the renter to have sufficient liability insurance. Most single events - such as weddings, receptions etc can be added to your personal insurance as a rider free of charge. Contact your insurance provider for further information.

Other events can obtain event insurance through PAL Insurance at palcanada.com or a similar institution.
